This selection favours houses you can stay in: private, well run, with enough variety for ten days and without the feeling of being watched.

What this recommendation is not
We do not work with rose petals and surprise dinners. If particular moments matter, we discuss them beforehand — and keep them small.
The houses
01 — Moltrasio, Comer See
An eighteenth-century villa restored over years by the family who owns it: frescoes, fabrics and furniture kept rather than referenced. You stay in rooms that were living rooms first.

Few rooms, deeply personal service, and evenings when the house feels almost private.
02 — Benguerra Island, Mosambik
Twelve free-standing residences across three hundred hectares of island, each with its own stretch of sand.

Wide beaches with no neighbours — for couples who would rather walk than go out.
03 — Seychellen
A private island of eleven villas, cleared of introduced species and replanted over decades. You share it with giant tortoises and almost no one else.

04 — Puigpunyent, Mallorca
A 1672 country estate in the Tramuntana, run after long restoration as a house rather than a resort. Art on the walls, terraces under old trees, almost no noise.

05 — Grumeti, Serengeti
An Edwardian manor on a hill above the Grumeti concession, looking across thirty kilometres of plain. The land is private, and the migration passes through between June and July.

Pure Voyage Notes
Safari and beach — in which order?
Safari first, beach after. Early starts, dust and full days are easy to carry at the beginning; by the end you want stillness. Between the two, a night in Nairobi, Arusha or Johannesburg is often kinder than one long transfer day.
