Andalusia is green in spring — an image most people do not expect. Between Seville and Cádiz lie switchbacks through cork oak, villages on rock, and estates held by the same families for generations.
The cities deserve a stay, not a detour: two nights in Seville, Córdoba for the Mezquita at first opening, Cádiz for Atlantic air and fish. Between them the sierra, where nobody is out after dark.
For horses, add Jerez; for wine, the sherry bodegas, which remain closer to craft than to tourism.

Why we recommend it
Because Spain here is slower than its reputation, and the distances stay short enough to stop wherever the afternoon suits you.

- March to May and October. High summer is very hot inland; December to February is mild on the coast.

- Nine to twelve days.
- Who it is best for
- Couples, cultural travellers, unhurried eaters. Also a good second journey to Spain when Mallorca and Madrid are already known.
Pure Voyage note
Seville and Córdoba reward you before ten in the morning. The Alcázar and the Mezquita are the same buildings at two in the afternoon, but you meet them in different company.

March to May, or October. High summer in Seville and Córdoba is endurance rather than pleasure. The Alhambra requires timed tickets weeks ahead — build the day around them. Distances between the cities are short, so two nights per stop works well here.

- Self-drive when the road itself is part of the pleasure — Tuscany, the Alentejo, the Highlands. With a driver when hairpins, cities or long stages would otherwise eat the day.
- How many nights per stop?
- Two at least, three ideally. One night per house means luggage rather than travel — and the best hours almost always come on the second morning.
