The idea

Not a ranking. An answer.

Our recommendations are not a collection system and not a category. Each one answers a question we are genuinely asked: where would you send someone travelling to Italy for the first time? What do you recommend in January? Which houses work with children?

The answers stay deliberately short. Five houses, one reason each, a few practical notes — and the destinations and journeys that follow naturally. What is missing is missing on purpose.
