Winter Sun Escapes
Addresses for the months when Europe is dark.
Between November and March, travel moves south. What counts then is not the length of the list but dependability: dry air, a calm sea and a house in which fourteen nights do not feel long.
This selection gathers places at their best in exactly those weeks — and able to carry a stay made of very little programme.

Our perspective
For long-haul winter travel we rarely suggest fewer than ten nights. The journey asks for it, and rest is the point in any case.
If you want to travel over the festive weeks, decide in spring: minimum stays and availability will shape the choice more than taste.
