Glaslodge auf Stelzen über einem Flusslauf im Krüger-Nationalpark

Discovery Path — No. 05

Safari For Beginners

A first safari, planned without strain.

A first safari rarely fails because of the wildlife and often because of the planning: too many camps, stays too short, transfers too long.

This path suggests a calmer order — two camps, an ending by the sea, and the months that favour first-time travellers.

The stages

How this path unfolds

  1. Glaslodge auf Stelzen über einem Flusslauf im Krüger-Nationalpark

    01

    Begin in South Africa

Kruger is the most accessible way in: good connections, low-malaria areas within reach, experienced guides. Four nights in one camp, not two.

  2. Lodge in einem Eukalyptuswald vor den Vulkanen Ruandas

    02

    A second, different camp

Botswana for water and distance, Rwanda for the mountains. The contrast between two landscapes shapes the journey more than a third camp of the same kind.

  3. 03

    Ending by the sea

After a week of early mornings, a quiet close on the Indian Ocean is not an add-on; it is the part travellers remember most fondly.

  4. 04

    When to go

The dry season between June and October makes sightings easier and the days more comfortable. For a first safari, it is the dependable choice.

We are glad to adjust this path to your dates and your pace.
