A small ship on a river that carries half the life of two countries.
Twenty cabins, floor-to-ceiling glass, a sun deck with a pool and a kitchen that buys its ingredients along the way. The ship is deliberately modern — not a colonial quotation but calm, clear architecture.
The Mekong is not a spectacle of nature but a working economy: floating markets, fish farms, riverside workshops, children rowing to school. Excursions go into it on foot, by bicycle or by sampan.
Cambodia closes the journey and, if you like, Angkor. After five days on water, the temples land differently than they do after a direct flight.

Because the Mekong brings the country to you rather than the other way round.
Between Cambodia and Vietnam lie villages, markets and monasteries that cost a long day by road and are reachable before breakfast from the river. The ship is small, the cabins bright, the excursions short and early — which in this climate is the only sensible hour. We suggest travelling upstream and two nights in Siem Reap afterwards rather than before.

Upstream from Vietnam to Cambodia if you want Angkor as the finale — the journey grows quieter as you go. Excursions start early because the heat settles in by ten. Seven nights is the sensible rhythm; shorter segments are largely arrival and departure.
