Heller Pariser Salon mit hohen Fenstern über der Seine in der Abenddämmerung

From the Suite Collection — Suite No. 06

Suite au Quai

Cheval Blanc Paris1. Arrondissement, Paris

The Seine, zinc rooftops and a salon built towards the window.

The quai-facing suites sit high in the Samaritaine, looking across the Seine to the Pont Neuf. The plan is arranged towards the window: the salon in front, the sleeping area set back.

From up here Paris looks ordered — the bridges, the roofs, the water. In the evening the lights come on in sequence, almost as if rehearsed.

Why we recommend this suite

Few city suites hold position and quiet together this well. The traffic along the quai stays outside; the view does not.

The house sits on a seam: the Louvre, the Marais and the Rive Gauche are all walkable without having to choose a quarter.

Who it suits

  • Couples visiting Paris for a long weekend who want to be central.
  • Travellers marking an occasion in winter — the city is at its most composed then.
  • Less suited to families with small children; other layouts in the house work better.

What makes it special

  • The Seine

From the salon across the Pont Neuf to the Île de la Cité.

  • The position

Between the Louvre and the Marais — most walks begin at the door.

  • The evening

The window carries the evening; you need no programme to fill it.

Best time to stay

May to June, December

Early summer brings long evenings; December a quiet, softly lit city with short distances.

Pure Voyage NoteSuite Note

What is easy to miss with this category?

The orientation. Facing the Seine you get light and the view; facing the courtyard you get silence. Light sleepers should ask — the difference is bigger than between two categories. Second point: the balconies are usable in spring and early autumn; in winter what counts is the view from the sofa.
