01 — Moltrasio, Comer See
Passalacqua
An eighteenth-century villa of twenty-four rooms with gardens falling towards the lake.
Why this house
The family who run it brought the house back themselves over many years. Frescoes, fabrics and furniture were kept rather than recreated — and that is exactly what a stay feels like.
How it feels
You inhabit rooms that were living rooms first. Mornings belong to the garden; by evening the lake lies still beneath the terraces.
- Suits
- Couples and small parties who prefer to inhabit a house rather than use it
- Best season
- May to June, September
Note
See the gardens early — before the first boat.
